Woodpecker hole at Sand Run Metropark

Posted by Picasa
Hiked along the Dogwood Trail at Sand Run yesterday. Much evidence of woodpeckers around. The trail was a bit slippery, with a thin layer of snow on it, but it felt good to be out in the cold, fresh air. Afterwards...Chicken and Noodles at Bob Evans...Mmmmmm....

Yes, the woodpeckers have certainly been busy! We used to have some pecking on our house when I was a young girl, of course they liked my room the best, a good wake-up call in the morning. My dad hung strips of tinfoil from the eaves. BTW - I received some mail returned from your blog on some previous comments, thought you would like to know.

Susan, I've noticed that I'm not getting email notifications of comments left on my blog. Thanks for letting me know. I'm off to investigate the problem now. Is this happening to anyone else?

Wow! That is quite a hole.
Excuse my ignorance but are those woodpeckers looking for insects?

I love woodpeckers, I hope to be able to take a picture of one some day.
CHeck your settings for the blog, maybe an option for e-mail.

I used to watch Woodpeckers all the time when I was a kid during school breaks in summertime (also remeber chasing Cuckoo's), don’t see them around much these days. BTW I tried to respond to you from a comment you made on my site, and it bounced back
