Two Cardinals in a dark woods

I came across a birdfeeder at Quail Hollow -- busy with chickadees, nuthatches, goldfinches, cardinals, blue jays and one woodpecker, but there just wasn't enough light in the woods for a clear shot. Posted by Picasa

Don't they make the greatest splash of color! I wish we had Cardinals up here.

Cardinals are fabulous birds. There's a wonderful variety of these birds in Hawaii, but we have nothing like them here - at least not to my knowledge. Quite lovely.

The closest we come to these in UK is a Robin Redbreast; in the south at least.

I love cardinals for their wonderful color and especially for their song.
